Valve made a second announcement and this pretty much fulfills what Gabe promised earlier. After unveiling Steam OS, the Linux based Living Room gaming friendlyOS, Valve announced that Steam Machines will be available by early 2014.
Valve said that they’ve partnered with many (still un-named) hardware developers, but no information about the specification, price range, upgradable or non-upgradeable machines- but according to the source, 300 Steam Users will be able to beta test these units who will help to evaluate the performance require to know for further development.
As said before, Valve has a very large member base in Steam in many countries and in different languages. Now that a number of people would have the chance to get their hands on Living room friendly gaming PC system, Valve is doing everything right so far to make a good execution of a very good concept.
There is one more announcement that Valve will be making on Friday. Only time will tell what new stuff is on the works!!!
