Wanted to gift your friends living in a different region via Steam? Well, for some games that may or may not be possible. Valve recently allowed game developers and publishers to disable cross-region gifting and trading.
For now, this applies for Eastern Europe and South America. Still, there’s no reason why this would not make developers to adopt this, considering different region have different pricing.
This wasn’t announced. It was recently being discovered and posted in a forum where a user found Konami’s Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance’s database where the ‘AllowCrossRegionTradingAndGifting’ tag was set to ‘No’. As of now, there’s no confirmation from Steam… yet.
