Looks like Valve wouldn’t be able to meet its plans to release the Steam Controller for 2014. According to the source, Valve’s Eric Hope said that the controller would be seeing a release window in 2015.
He added,“We’re now using wireless prototype controllers to conduct live playtests, with everyone from industry professionals to die-hard gamers to casual gamers.” According to what he said, the company received a ton of useful feedback and will be using it to improve the controller. As a result, the realistic release window is 2015. The controller was revealed in 2013, along with its Linux powered Steam Machine operating system ‘SteamOS’.
Its obvious that Valve wants to make a game controller that’s significantly different from conventional controller designs. The company used a pair of circular touchpads rather than analog counterparts that usually seen in console controllers. Valve believed that by doing so, it should be easier to play first-person, real-time strategy and actions games. Only time will tell to know how good or bad the controller is.
